The work of Mother Teresa and her Missionaries of Charity is renowned. What is less well known is that, with her first colleague Jacqueline De Decker, she set up an active association of three thousand sick and ailing collaborators. She asked each one of them to support a missionary through prayer and friendship. A network of correspondence was established between Mother Teresa and her spiritual collaborators, many of whom were bedridden or had lived for years in hospitals or nursing homes. Paradoxically, the selection of letters presented in this book constitutes a wonderful path along which suffering leads to hope and joy.
