This book is a gateway to the doctrine of Meister Eckhart, via one of the German master's most important texts: his "Commentary on the Book of Exodus". Starting out from the timeless "I am who I am", at the junction of the metaphysical, theological and mystical, he deciphers the experience of the living God, the Trinitarian God of Christianity, in whom absolute life has its origin. Man, in his soul, experiences that life through his relation with Christ, the Word made Flesh, in whom the human and the divine are united. The only true life is in the absolute life of God. Eckhart's mysticism is one of eternity, that seizes and transfigures the present.
