Neither a promise made under oath, nor a signature on a contract, nor a sexual relationship has the power to keep a couple together. Not even affection and the willingness to follow expert advice. Although we may really have believed in it, the day comes when love almost inevitably encounters dissatisfaction and shortcoming. But the breach which then appears in the couple can in fact be salutary. To become differentiated from each other, to become who you really are while remaining together: an impossible injunction or a paradoxical achievement? That is the challenge of the couple, and the core of its indissolubility. The difference between man and woman calls for a radical conversion of desire. The other will never be everything for me, nor vice versa. This gap between the two, this space that permits dialogue and coming together, marks the place of the unique God, near to us through His Son Christ. Whosoever accepts the offer "I love you just as you are" will one day address these words, which transmit a new and liberating lease of life, to their spouse. This book proposes a conversation with the self, intended for those who aspire to a truthful and loving relationship with another. It uses the inner movement of the Evangelisation of the Inner Self, initiated by Simone Pacot, wherein the human dimensions - the body, psychology and spirit - are articulated in harmony. This is a path to incarnation that can speak to all of us.
