Economy is at the centre of our lives, but the Gospel is highly critical of wealth in all its forms: two facts that seem difficult to reconcile. But if Christianity and economy make such bad bedfellows, how can we explain the number of parables in the Gospel that are based on the economic facet of our lives? How can we explain the economic dynamism of our Western societies, despite their Christian origins? Perhaps economy is in fact central to the Christian message, although it reaches beyond it by way of the perspectives it opens? In this book, the investigation focuses on the Gospels, the social Doctrine of the Church, and the reflection of the financier, in order to approach the major questions posed by today's economy. But it also focuses on what our action should be, from what we do with our money to the Christian vocation to holiness.
