On ne renforcera pas l'étude du religieux sans renforcer l'étude tout court. » C'est à ce double défi du rapport Debray que répondent les manuels des Chemins de la foi : faire découvrir et approfondir l'intelligence du mystère chrétien à des jeunes en âge scolaire et l'illustrer abondamment par l'art, la prière, la culture biblique, historique et littéraire. C'est donc un enseignement catéchétique, qui développe de manière organique l'art de la vie chrétienne, comme Jean-Paul II y encourageait l'Église de France il y a cinq ans, qu'offre ce parcours à travers la vie des saints. Conçu par des professeurs et des pédagogues, il se révèle un outil pratique, efficace et attrayant pour transmettre et témoigner de la foi.

We cannot intensify religious education without strengthening general education. » The manuals of the 'Chemins de la foi' have risen to the double challenge of the Debray report: to allow young people of school age to discover and deepen their intelligence of the Christian mystery, and to illustrate it abundantly through art, prayer, Biblical culture, history and literature. This is catechistic teaching that develops in an organic way the art of Christian life, as John-Paul II encouraged the Church of France to do five years ago. The book, designed by teachers and pedagogists, offers an itinerary through the lives of the saints. It will prove a useful, efficient and attractive tool for testimony and transmission of faith.
