The Bible is a huge treasure of stories narrated. From Genesis to the Revelation, each story unfolds a world that the reader is invited to inhabit. A recent discipline, narratology, strives to study that age-old art of 'storytelling'. Whether they be novelists or Biblical writers, every storyteller uses the same techniques: to build an intrigue, to weave a network of characters, to devise a system of values, to excite the readers' imagination and make them travel through space and time. Here, seven Biblicists present some 'practical exercises' of narrative analysis applied to the Bible. After being invited by Daniel Marguerat to 'Enter into the world of narration', readers will experience the magic of storytelling: whether they be shepherds or scholars, the biblical narrators were true artists!
