Yves Hélory died on the 19 May 1303, in his manor of Kermartin, near Tréguier. A contemporary of Saint Louis (Louis IX), Thomas Aquinas, Dante and Giotto, he was born thirty years after the death of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Dominic. The renown of his holiness was such that when his death was announced, crowds rushed from all around to pay homage to him.
