By giving modern and living languages their due place in liturgy, the Council opened the doors of the Church to poets. Didier Rimaud was one of the best. Many of his works, which have been set to music by several composers (Jacques Berthier, Marcel Godard, Jo Akepsimas, Joseph Gelineau) have nourished the prayers of Christian communities, and still do. In three volumes: ‘Angel and Crickets' (forthcoming in 2008), ‘With the Force of the Dove' and ‘At the Ensign of Easter', his songs and poems are presented as so many invitations to private and community prayer. Each volume contains several useful tables for those responsible for, or who animate the liturgy (table of liturgical usages, table of themes, alphabetical table).
